On October 3rd, 2017, professionals who work to assist individuals with disabilities in finding meaningful, integrated employment in Fayette, Greene and Washington counties gathered at the Double Tree Pittsburgh to discuss opportunities for interagency collaboration.
Prior to the training, participants had been asked to identify an individual whom they serve, and develop a team of professionals who work together to serve that individual. Participants brought their cases to Experience the Employment Connection and were given the opportunity to develop an action plan to assist their individual in finding meaningful employment.
Following the activity, participants explained they enjoyed the fresh ideas and opinions presented in the Team-Based Collaboration Activity. Team members had the opportunity to learn about new programs and services, and developed a deeper understanding of how agencies work together.
After completing the activity, participants were asked to rate their action plan on a scale of 1-10, on how closely it matches the student/individual’s goals. All participants rated their action plan as an 8 or above.
We are so excited to see participants come together to assist real individuals in achieving their goals. It’s not too late to sign up for one of our last sessions! Register today at: http://pa-eec.org/register/
