Experience the Employment Connection (EEC) 2017 kicked off in York County, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, September 13th. Professionals who work to assist individuals with disabilities in finding meaningful, integrative employment in Adams, Franklin, Lancaster, and York counties gathered together at Heritage Hills Golf Resort to pursue further education and interagency collaboration.
This year, participants were asked to identify a particular individual whom they serve, and to build a team of individuals who are best suited to meet the needs of that person. Teams registered and attended EEC together, and were guided through a series of interactive activities, designed to broaden their knowledge of government systems, legislation, and services available. Then, teams were given time to discuss amongst themselves and develop a collaborative “action plan” for assisting their individual in obtaining employment.
“This event brings all of the major players together, around one table, to discuss a more streamlined, effective process for connecting people with disabilities to employment opportunities,” explains Karen Gross, Training Facilitator. “It’s exciting to see the progress that can be made when people work together and discuss their resources face to face.”
This year’s Experience is already bigger, better, and more productive than ever before– and we’re just getting started! Register today for one of our regional events across the state!
